Data collection techniques in research are test techniques and observation sheets. The research instrument was test material and test equipment, and the data analysis techniques in this study were the results of reading speed, comprehension of reading content, and calculating overall averages. Based on the results of this study concluded that the overall reading speed is 211 kpm into the good category. Then the percentage of overall student understanding is 85%. So the ability to average read quickly using skimming techniques for SI 2 C students is in the excellent category. It can be concluded that the learning speed reading skills can be enhanced through the skimming technique.
